UN BEAU CADEAU DE NOËL
Merci aux député·e·s français ! L’Assemblée nationale a voté hier (par 268 voix pour, 138 contre et 79 abstentions) la proposition de loi « renforçant la lutte contre le système prostitutionnel ». Les dispositions principales reprennent les demandes du réseau Zéromacho, notamment celle qui a suscité les débats les plus vifs, la pénalisation des clients-prostitueurs, avec une amende maximale de 1500 €, doublée en cas de récidive. Ce succès doit beaucoup à la ministre des droits des femmes Najat Vallaud-Belkacem, aux députées Maud Olivier, Catherine Coutelle, Danielle Bousquet et Guy Geoffroy, ainsi qu’aux 55 associations groupées dans le collectif Abolition 2012 dont Zéromacho fait partie.
La France rejoint ainsi la Suède, la Norvège, l’Islande et l’Irlande en affirmant qu’acheter un acte sexuel est une violence condamnée par la loi.
Il faudra encore du temps (plusieurs mois) pour que la loi soit votée au Sénat mais nous fêtons déjà ce premier succès, avec une pensée reconnaissante pour nos prédécesseurs abolitionnistes depuis le 19e siècle. Nous aussi, imaginons un monde sans prostitution !

A beautiful Christmas present
Many thanks to the French Députés ! The National Assembly voted yesterday for a law strengthening the fight against the prostituting system. The votes were 268 for, 138 against and 55 abstentions. The main measures resume the requests of the Zéromacho network, particularly the one that aroused the most lively debates, the penalization of clients-prostituters, in a maximal 1500 € fine, a fine doubled in case of second offence. This success owes a lot to the Secretary of the Rights of Women, Najat Vallaud-Belkacem, to the députés Maud Olivier, Catherine Coutelle, Danielle Bousquet and Guy Geoffroy, as well as to the 55 associations grouped in the Abolition 2012 collective. Zeromacho is part of this collective.
So France joins Sweden, Norway, Iceland and Ireland and asserts likewise that buying a sexual act is a violence condemned by the law.
Several months will be needed for the law to be voted in the Senate, but we already celebrate this first success, with a grateful thought for our abolitionist predecessors since the 19th century. Let us imagine a world without prostitution!
